Moving 3D Impressions Playlist Files

View Product »

The key thing to remember about playlist document files is that they contain references (or links) to your CyberFlair 3D Impressions document files.

This means that if you move or rename any of the 3D Impressions document files that your playlist is referencing, you may break the ability of the playlist to playback those items.

However, playlist documents do contain logic for finding its referenced documents should they be moved or copied, by calculating each file position relative to its own folder location.

This means that playlist files can be copied to other computers or memory devices while still allowing its playback.

Copying Playlist Files

Copying Playlist & 3D Impressions Files

If you copy a playlist document file to another computer or memory device, you need to ensure that the computer attempting playback can access the location of the playlist document items.  The easiest way to do this is to also copy its reference 3D Impressions document files.

However, to ensure that playback still works, you need to maintain any relative structure folder between Playlist and 3D Impressions documents.

Example 1:

If your Playlist documents were originally stored in the same folder as the 3D Impressions documents it references, this is easy.  Simply copy all the files in question into the same folder at its new destination.

Example 2:

If your Playlist documents were originally stored in the sub folder, say named, 'playlists', beneath the 3D Impressions documents it references then you need to do the same at the new destination.  This is because the playlist knows that the 3D Impressions documents are in the folder above it.  So, simply copy all the 3D Impressions document files to their new destination and then place the playlist document in a sub folder, again named 'playlists'.

Copying Playlist File Only

If you only copy a playlist document file to another computer or memory device, and you attempt to play it from this new location, you need to ensure that the computer attempting playback can access the location of the playlist document items.

This is typically only suitable if you are performing playback on the computer that the playlist was created, or if your playlist references documents on a network shared folder.
