Import Object

This feature allows you to add any shape of object created in other products, some of which are freely available on the Internet.

The file types supported for importing are:
   .X  - Microsoft DirectX X File
   .OBJ - Alias Wavefront Object
   .CF3DO - CyberFlair 3D Impressions Object

The assist with saving computer resources, the structure of imported 3D shapes can be simplified with the products quality setting.  This can be useful if a complex object is only drawn small or is repeated many times within a scene.  However, to ensure the imported shape initially appears as expected this maximum quality setting is automatically selected.  Information about this and other quality modifiers are available under the 'Object Styles' help topic.

A collection of links to external sites offering tools and object definition files is available by using the 'Visit Online Object Resources' link.

Once you have a supported object file, you can use either of the following functions to add it to your CyberFlair 3D Impressions document.

Import Object

This will use the supplied file to create a new object.  If the object creates definitions of colors and textures, this information will also be used to create the object' materials.

After using this feature, it is recommended to use the Material Mechanic to check the imported objects visual appearances for possible anomalies.  This feature is available upon the Ribbon's Material Context category.

Import Object - Shape Only

This will use the supplied file to create a new object.  Any information on color or textures will be ignored.
