3D Impressions Help - Network Updating of Screen Saver

View Product »

For companies, or even advanced home users, you can push your CyberFlair 3D Impressions documents to a computer's screen saver slot over your network.  As with all such remote configuration, this ability is dependent upon your network & computers security settings.

Packaging your Documents for Distribution

After you have created your 3D Impressions document that you wish to use on other computers, and if the design references external files such as pictures or imported 3D objects, you will probably want to create a CyberFlair 3D Impressions Package document.

This is a simple process and achieved by using the Publish > Package for Export feature available from the File Ribbon

This feature creates a new version of your document, (with extension of .cf3dip), that contains a copy of the externally used files.

Screen Saver Slots

Via the network, you can set either any of the user's personal screen saver slots or, if the computer is using a Professional Edition license of CyberFlair 3D Impressions, to any of the global screen saver slots.

User's Screen Saver Slots

Each Windows User Account has 3 personal screen saver slots.
These take the form of specifically named files in the following location:

Windows 8
Windows 7
Windows Vista
Windows XP
"%APPDATA%\CyberFlair\3D Impressions"

When copying your 3D Impressions document or 3D Impressions Package document to this location, you need to ensure it is given one of the file name shown below:
ScreenSaver1.cf3di , ScreenSaver2.cf3di or ScreenSaver3.cf3di

Remembering that if you are using a Package file, (that was given a file name extension .cf3dip), the destination file needs to be given the shorter .cf3di file name extension.

Global Screen Saver Slots

With a Professional Edition license, each computer also gets 3 global screen saver slots that are made available to all Windows User Accounts.
These take the form of specifically named files in the following location:

Windows 8
Windows 7
Windows Vista
"%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\CyberFlair\3D Impressions"
Windows XP "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\CyberFlair\3D Impressions"

When copying your 3D Impressions document or 3D Impressions Package document to this location, you need to ensure it is given one of the file name shown below:
ScreenSaver1.cf3di , ScreenSaver2.cf3di or ScreenSaver3.cf3di

Remembering that if you are using a Package file, (that was given a file name extension .cf3dip), the destination file needs to be given the shorter .cf3di file name extension.

Updating Via Network

The typical ways for setting these files over your network are:

  • Network Share to the destination folder.
  • Logon Script.  Creating the destination folder if required.
